Cu-phthalocyanine coated hybrid magnetic nanoparticles: Preparation and application in the synthesis of mono- and bis pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidinones and mono- and bis-2-amino-4H-pyrans

Abstract

In this paper, Cu-phthalocyanine coated hybrid magnetic nanoparticles have been prepared in simple method and evaluated as an efficient catalyst in the preparation of mono- and bis-pyrano[2,3-d]pyrimidinones and mono- and bis-2-amino-4H-pyrans from condensation reaction of 1,3-dimethylbarbituric acid or 4-hydroxycumarin with malononitrile and mono- and bis-aldehydes under ultrasonic irradiation. The catalyst could be easily recovered in the presence of external magnetic field and reused for five times without significant loss of activity and mass. The magnetic nanoparticles were characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectra, X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA). The results showed the spherical structures of hybrid magnetic nanoparticles and the average size is about 37 nm.
